The Sedalia Housing Authority was established in 1971 to meet the growing need for affordable housing in our community. Each of our Courts honors those who played a vital role in that effort, dedicated City Council members, and Reverend Albright, who championed the call for low-income housing. One Court proudly bears the name of Sedalia’s own “King of Ragtime,” Scott Joplin, who attended the historic black college/university (HBCU) George R. Smith College, once located here in Sedalia, Missouri. Today, the Sedalia Housing Authority provides 195 units of quality low-income housing across two properties, continuing a legacy of service and opportunity.
Named in honor of a Sedalia, Missouri soldier who gave his life in the Vietnam War, this 145-unit community offers a range of modern amenities.
